20.09.2023Nazarbayev University Graduate School of Public Policy (NU GSPP) has conducted an executive educational program “Behavioral Insights for Effective Public Policy” from September 12 to 15, 2023 in Astana.
Behavioral public policy involves the application of insights from psychology and behavioral sciences to enhance public policy design and implementation. This course integrates the findings of behavioral sciences into public policymaking. Through real-world examples from various local and international contexts, the course takes a practical approach, showcasing the use and adoption of behavioral insights across governments, regulatory bodies, public organizations, and diverse sectors.
This course was designed for 4 days of full-time study.
Classes were taught by Omer F. Baris, NU GSPP Associate Professor. He received his PhD in Economics with a specialization in Public Economics from Andrew Young School of Public Policy of Georgia State University in 2012. He taught economics and game theory at the public policy schools of Georgia State University and the Georgia Institute of Technology, both located in Atlanta, Georgia in the United States of America.
During the 4-days training, participants demonstrated a high level of interactivity in group work, discussing current issues, analyzing case studies, solving problems and preparing presentations.
