UN SDSN
The UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) works under the auspices of the UN Secretary-General to mobilize the world’s universities, think tanks, and national laboratories for action on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Paris Agreement.
Spanning six continents, the SDSN network comprises over 1,800 member institutions, most of which are universities, coordinated by 53 National and Regional Networks. The purpose of a National or Regional SDSN is to mobilize universities, research centers, civil society organizations, business, and other knowledge centers around practical problem solving for sustainable development. The SDSN offices are located in New York, Paris, and Kuala Lumpur.
SDSN works towards supporting sustainable development in three main areas:
1. Localizing and mobilizing support for the SDGs, including supporting governments in understanding and addressing the challenges of sustainable development;
2. Promoting high-quality education and research collaboration for sustainable development;
3. Vetting and launching solution initiatives, including supporting the preparation of long-term pathways.
