The official launch of the Sustainable Development Solutions Network in Kazakhstan was held on June 8, 2022. SDSN Kazakhstan was approved as a National Network hosted by Nazarbayev University under the umbrella of the global SDSN in January 2022.

The focus of Nazarbayev University through SDSN is to (1) promote practical solutions for the development of long-term sustainable pathways in Kazakhstan; (2) support high-quality education and research collaboration on SDGs in Kazakhstan; (3) suggest applied research and policy initiatives for better addressing the challenges of sustainable development in Kazakhstan. UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) is a nonprofit made by the United Nations in 2012 to advance the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). As of 2022, SDSN has over 1,600 members in 47 networks across 137 countries, including SDSN Kazakhstan at Nazarbayev University.
