Congratulations to NU GSPP alumnus Zhusup Zhumagulov on his appointment as the new Deputy Akim of the North Kazakhstan region!

Zhusup is a 2020 graduate of our Master in Public Administration (MPA) program and has an impressive track record in public service. His past roles include chief specialist in Astana’s Department for Investments and Entrepreneurship Development, and leadership positions in Astana’s Center of Research on Problems of Religions, Department of Public Development, and the Akim’s Office.

Most recently, he served as the Akim of “Saryarka” and “Nura” districts in Astana. In his new role, he will focus on internal policy, culture, education, religion, and employment.
