Introduction of National Corruption Perception Index

On November 20, 2015 the Public Policy Institute of the Nur Otan Party launched the newly designed National Corruption Perception Index (NCPI). The NCPI was presented in the course of an international conference devoted to Anticorruption legislation and practices in global perspective.

Two GSPP faculty members were invited to participate in the conference. Assistant Professor Omer F. Baris delivered a presentation on the various methodologies employed to estimate corruption levels, while Associate Professor Riccardo Pelizzo gave a presentation in which he explained why the creation of NCPI is a useful diagnostic tool to track corruption levels across regions and sectors in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
