Dr. Stefanos Xenarios will be the keynote speaker in the “Water resources and water security” session

Dr. Stefanos Xenarios will be the keynote speaker in the “Water resources and water security” session that will be held on February 24 within the “The Silk Road of Knowledge: Science Meets Green Policy” conference.

The session is dedicated to water resources and water security in Central Asia. Topics are considered, but not limited to climate impact on water resource availability, water management issues considering the water-food-energy nexus under climate change, adaptation to climate change, and water governance in Central Asia.

The session will bring scientists and decision-makers together to bridge the gap between theory and practice. The conference organizers aim at providing up-to-date innovative solutions and scientific findings to contribute to improved water resources management strategies under climate change in Central Asia. As an outcome, this session is expected to deliver key points in the field of water resources and water security to policymakers.

Dr. Xenarios is an environmental economist by training with a focus on water resources and climate change aspects. He joined the Graduate School of Public Policy in Nazarbayev University in 2018.
