The Graduate School of Public Policy (GSPP) at Nazarbayev University recently hosted a remarkable three-day Alumni Gathering, bringing together graduates from various cohorts to reconnect, share insights, and explore ways to support the School’s mission in an evolving landscape.

Over the course of the event, alumni engaged in thought-provoking discussions, networking sessions, and collaborative dialogues with faculty and school leadership. A key highlight was the address by Dean Weng Tat Hui, who underscored GSPP’s role in training future leaders for good governance in Kazakhstan and beyond.
"The Graduate School of Public Policy has a vital mission—to train leaders who champion good governance. While we have achieved recognition as the top public policy school in Central Asia, we are now navigating challenges, particularly a reduction in grants for new students. I am deeply encouraged by the insights, commitment, and readiness of our alumni to support the School during this critical period," said Dean Hui.
The event provided a platform for alumni to share their professional experiences, exchange ideas on policy innovations, and discuss ways to contribute to GSPP’s continued success. The strong engagement from the alumni network—now comprising over 500 graduates—demonstrated their dedication to the School’s future.
GSPP remains committed to fostering a vibrant alumni community and welcomes continued dialogue, collaboration, and contributions from its graduates. Alumni who wish to stay engaged and support GSPP’s initiatives are encouraged to reach out and participate in upcoming events.
