NU GSPP alumni talks: how to be a UN Volunteer

SYNOPSIS

On September 29, Wednesday, we discussed how to be a UN Volunteer with Nikita Shabayev.

Nikita Shabayev, NU GSPP Alumni, graduated from our School this year with Master’s degree in Public Administration shared his story of professional and personal development, gave study and work tips for fresh graduates, current students and future applicants within the NU GSPP alumni talks.

Nikita is UN Volunteers Country Coordinator for Kazakhstan. He is working on two main mandates of the UN Volunteers Programme: promoting volunteerism in the country and mobilizing UN Volunteers for UN Entities in the country. Beyond that he is a Co-Founder, a volunteer and a former President of the “Best for Kids” Public Foundation.

Nikita always takes an active part in all social events of the city and familiar with almost all the interesting social projects, initiatives, and NGOs. He also takes part in the fundraising campaigns to raise funds for sick children; helps initiative groups and public funds in their operating activities, building team spirit, marketing campaigns and consultations on the development of volunteerism in their organizations.
