Speaker: Dr Khalida Azhigulova holds a PhD in Law from the University of Leicester, UK, and a master’s degree in Law (Magister Juris) from the University of Oxford, UK. She is a socio-legal researcher in public international law and human rights, national coordinator of the Street Law legal education project for schoolchildren, Legal Director of the Kazakhstani PhD Association in the UK (www.kpauk.org), Co-Chair of the Research Committee of the British Kazakh Society https://www.bksoc.org.uk). Certified UN trainer in human rights, Fellow of the British Academy of Higher Education, qualified lawyer in Kazakhstani law. Member of parliamentary working groups on the development of legislation on political parties, elections, science, charity, volunteering, and protection from domestic violence.
